Autism
To describe autism to you, I will quote a definition from the book by Franco and Andrea, “Smiling faces are welcome” – Feltrinelli publisher:
Autism. In the dictionary, a word. In life, a storm. What is autism? Imagine getting out and taking your car. You get in, turn the key, and instead of starting, the car honks. Everyone stares at you. You turn it off. You turn it back on, this time it starts. You close the door, and the trunk opens. You put it in first, and it goes in reverse. Putting it in second allows you to go forward, you reach the curve, turn right, and the car goes left. You know what to do, but the car doesn't. People look at you and think you're stupid, that you don't know how to drive; they honk, they insult you. Well, autism is when this car is your body, every movement, words, everything is different. You see the world perfectly, you understand perfectly what is happening, but you do things differently from what you want, people think you're an idiot and treat you like an idiot.
